Who is PACOG?

The Pueblo Area Council of Governments (PACOG) is an intergovernmental organization consisting of the following member entities:

City of Pueblo;

County of Pueblo;

Board of Water Works;

School District No. 60;

School District No. 70;

Pueblo West Metropolitan District;

Colorado City Metropolitan District;

Salt Creek Sanitation District.

The sixteen voting members of PACOG consist of the seven City Councilpersons, three County Commissioners, and one person each from the Water Board, both School Boards, the two Metropolitan Districts and Salt Creek Sanitation District.  The Co-Executive Directors of PACOG are the City Manager and County Attorney.  The Director of the Pueblo County Department of Planning and Development serves as PACOG's Manager.

Among other functions, PACOG serves as an urban transportation planning organization.  Both the long-term and short-term transportation plans are acted upon by PACOG and prepared on behalf of PACOG by the City’s Transportation Planning staff.

The MPO Transportation Advisory Commission (TAC)

Who is the MPO TAC (Transportation Advisory Committee)?

In August 2006, the PACOG Board amended Section 6 of the PACOG bylaws to create the Transportation Advisory Commission (TAC) composed of two standing committees:  the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) and the Transportation Technical Committee (TTC).  The reorganized CAC is composed of nine members serving two-year terms beginning in January of odd-numbered years: 

Two (2) from the City Planning and Zoning Commission
Two (2) from the Pueblo County Planning Commission
One (1) from the 2010 Commission
One (1) from PEDCO
Three (3) at-large citizen appointees 

The TAC regularly meets on the first Thursday of each month to review and make recommendations to the PACOG Board about regional transportation planning, programming, and funding issues.
